Canadian online gaming company Amaya Gaming has just agreed to pay the massive sum of $4.9 billion to purchase Rational Group, the Isle of Man company that owns Poker Stars and Full Tilt Poker.

Online poker traffic dropped a further 3% this week, adding to the 2% that was lost last week, as PokerStars gave up further ground to resettle back in to their levels before there recent big promotion.

Online poker traffic as a whole dropped 2% this week, losing back 2 of the 3% the market gained last week. The 2014 WSOP has now begun in Las Vegas, and naturally Nevada online poker site WSOP is poised to look to cash in on all the excitement.

The worldwide poker market erased their losses of 3% last week by posting an identical gain of 3% this week, in spite of 8 out of the top 10 online poker sites seeing a decline. The boost was mostly driven by a nice increase by Poker Stars.

After two consecutive weeks of increasing numbers, the worldwide online poker market experienced a fairly big dip last week, dropping by 3%, erasing the gains of the past two weeks and then some.

Online poker traffic increased for the second consecutive week, although it was only up very slightly, rising a further 0.1% to go along with last week’s 2% rise.

After 11 consecutive weeks of decline, the overall market finally posted a gain this week, up a healthy 2%. 9 out of the top 10 poker sites experienced a gain.

Overall online poker traffic dipped a further 2.6%, sliding for the 11th straight week. Only one of the top 10 poker sites showed an increase in traffic with the other 9 experiencing a decline.

Worldwide online poker traffic fell by a further 2% this week, a pretty significant dip, making this the tenth week in a row that traffic levels have fallen.

Online poker traffic overall declined for the ninth week in a row, this time by a full percentage point over last week.
